Talking Draenor with Ion Hazzikostas

Blizzard has released the newest models for their upcoming expansion Warlords of Draenor, the Tauren female. As with the past revamped models, the Tauren female will gain access to a variety of new polygons, textures and more to make it shiny new.

"The original female Tauren had a lot of issues with too-angular geometry and stretched-out textures," reads the blog post on the official site. "It’s not her fault—it’s just what we had available to us at the time. Our new process has allowed us to add a lot of detail to her hair, fur, horns, and hooves, to build a far more detailed and expressive face, and to add a lot of definition to her musculature (while retaining her shape and silhouette)."

It's quite easy to see the staggering differences in the pictures below, and great effort has gone into re-producing as much of the original 2004 model as possible. What are your thoughts on the remodels so far? Let us know in the comments below!

In related Warcraft news, Legendary Pictures has unveiled the official logo for the upcoming Warcraft film, due for release in 2016. The logo was debuted at Legendary’s Comic-Con booth, and as you can expect has caused a number of discussions to pop up.

Some fans of the Warcraft franchise have already voiced their dissatisfaction with the design of the logo, stating that it strays too far from Warcraft‘s typically untampered style, and instead resembles the sci-fi StarCraft‘s logo which has had a similar blue metallic texture since the late 90s. See for yourself in the image below, and again let us know your thoughts in the comments! As an added bonus, World of Warcraft Community Manager Bashiok has posted a couple images of props from the movie that are featured in Legendary’s booth, which you can find over here.

Update: It seems Blizzard has also pushed out the Horde-themed Chopper bike mount for players to gain, completely free of charge. Simply logging in to the game between now and September 30, 2014 will automatically have their account flagged to receive the Horde chopper upon the release of the upcoming Warlords of Draenor expansion.

Looks like the Horde chopper that won Azeroth Choppers is now available. Just need to log in to claim it but there seems to be login issues atm.

I'd hit that Tauren female, so sexy. She might need to shave first.

Not that Warcraft title though, it looks pretty crap.

That's the only thing I don't like about the new tauren females. They look kind of like a guy. Apart from that huge improvement.

speaking of WoW ... does anyone use OpenRaid and is it decent? Surprisingly only just discovered it then. Used to have a proper guild from Vanilla until WotLK so raiding since then has been limited to LFR. These days I'm far more casual with next to none of my old mates playing and wouldn't mind using OpenRaid for doing old raids.

Yeah, OpenRaid is good, its not restricted to just old raids either, I've got a friend who does a regular heroic Siege of Orgrimmar via OpenRaid (been considering trying that myself if I can find one that is only 1 or 2 days a week).

Another thing you could try is OQueue, its an ingame addon, uses Battlenet RealId and whispers to create a social mesh that you can use to find groups for stuff. It can be a bit touchy at times and has a few bugs, but when it works it works awesomely (works so good in fact Blizz are building the functionality into the game for Warlords)

f***** sweet! cheers man. that's so awesome. Getting to raid without the hassle of having to hold out a spot every week. I can just lock in a day I know I have free. and while I would like to do SoO, still keen to get through firelands and what not. Never got to see those through and nice for transmog runs.
