Three new character stills have appeared online, showing off the very first character from Ridley Scott's Halo: Nightfall, Spartan Agent Locke.

The images, seen below, feature Mike Colter who is best known for his work in The Good Wife and The Following. Previous reports had suggested Colter would appear on the TV series as a rising star called Marlowe, however it seems he's received an upgrade to the new Spartan assigned a key role in the Xbox One exclusive Halo 5: Guardians.

Halo: Nightfall will act as a live-action digital series taking place between the events of Halo 4 and Halo 5: Guardians, offering an origin story that will lend insight and understanding into the character Jameson Locke becomes in Halo 5: Guardians. Fans of Master Chief needn't worry however, as the iconic Spartan will remain the star of both the show and the upcoming game.

Halo: Nightfall is set to be bundled alongside the Halo: The Master Chief Collection when it hits stores later this year. Led by world class talent such as executive producer Ridley Scott, Scott Free TV President David Zucker, and director Sergio Mimica-Gezzan, Halo: Nightfall will take "full advantage of Xbox One’s seamless blend of high-quality visuals and storytelling and rich interactivity, connecting the games and the series in innovative new ways."
