Klei Entertainment's sandbox top-down survival title Don't Starve will be getting its first big expansion on the PlayStation 4 come next week, the developer announced today.

Titled the Reign of Giants, the new expansion will not only add the rather obvious giant creatures to the game, but also include new characters, seasons, and biomes to explore plus an extra save slot. PC fans have already been enjoying the new content for the last few months, however PlayStation 4 fans will soon be seeing the action come July 23rd. PlayStation Vita followers can look forward to the expansion in the game's upcoming port.

The single-player DLC will be available at a price point of $5, though PlayStation Plus members get to chomp at a delicious 10 percent discount. AS for the multiplayer side of things, Klei also released some brand-new prototype footage of their co-op in action, which you can check out below. Be warned though, this is very early footage and Klei stresses that things will most certainly change.

I didn't know you could save, or is that just for consoles?

No, it's in the PC version. You mean you played without saving?
