A new gameplay demo has made its way out from the depth of Sony Online Entertainment for their upcoming zombie survival horror title H1Z1, showcasing just a little bit of gameplay we can expect from the game's sandbox attitude, which was showcased at this year's E3 event.

Game designer Jimmy Whisenhunt leads the hands-on demo, showing off a number of gameplay features in H1Z1 including a look at the crafting system that players will be able manipulate for their benefit. One of the more prominent changes seen in the demo from other zombie sandbox titles like DayZ is that crafting seems to be more in-depth, where players will need to discover recipes before building their desired creations. Whisenhunt showcases this by physically chopping down a tree to gain wood logs, which he then converts into various recipes like a bow, arrows, wood planks and more.

Other demonstrations included building platform structures for buildings, dew collection for natural water, time of day, vehicles, combat and hunting. All of this can be found in the demo reel below, and hopefully we'll be hearing more about early access dates sooner rather than later.
