Following its first launch on console in its long history of being PC-only, developer Firaxis Games has today announced that the sequel to Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution will be coming to iOS devices early next month.

Unlike its past console predecessor, Civilization Revolution 2 was designed from the ground up to be playable on mobile devices, with both graphics and controls tailored to the medium. Like its past, Firaxis Games' new installment will task players with guiding a newly formed civilization from its birth through to the modern age, and into the future. Players will be able to achieve this victory through militaristic, cultural, economic or scientific means.

The sequel will feature past leaders from the first game, including Abraham Lincoln or Napoleon Bonaparte, along with new historical figure heads like Winston Churchill and J.F.K. Firaxis Games will release its new strategy title for iOS July 2nd, and an unspecified later date for Android devices.
