Previously scheduled for a Steam Early Access release on May 22nd, Vancouver-based studio SKS Games has today announced that their procedurally generated horror survival The Forest has been delayed just a few short days, now opening up on May 30th.
As you would guess from the title, the game takes place in a forest after you are left stranded from a freak plane crash. You'll have to stay alive by trusting your survival instincts and learning how to build a shelter, hunt for food, maintain warmth, farm for food and set traps as you find you are sadly not the only one living in this forest.
SKS's Mick Solomons previously revealed that inspiration for The Forest came from various cult classic films like The Descent and Cannibal Holocaust. Solomons also explained that as the player you'll be able to choose "between combat with crude weapons or taking the stealthy approach" when it comes to fighting enemies.
