Tripwire Interactive has announced a sequel to their first-person shooter Killing Floor, heading to Windows PC and Valve's SteamOS through Steam Early Access.
Like its predecessor, Killing Floor 2 is a gore-filled, co-op first-person shooter and will most definitely contain loadsa money. According to Tripwire creative director and senior animator Bill Munk, Killing Floor 2 is "a simple game."
"You have weapons," Munk told PC Gamer. "You see something that looks messed up. And you kill it. You get money for doing it and you buy better weapons. Rinse and repeat. The more enjoyable that small little loop is, the more successful the game is."
Killing Floor saw an original release as an Unreal Tournament 2004 mod in 2005, with a full release following in 2009. Players would spend their time fighting off waves of mutated creatures in the streets of london, all the while gaining loadsa dosh to spend on weapons and perks.
Tripwire has yet to announce an official date on when we can expect Killing Floor 2 in Steam Early Access, but hopefully we'll be hearing more as E3 2014 approaches.
