Australian indie team League of Geeks has taken to Kickstarter in hopes of bringing to life their rather beautiful looking digital board game Armello, which intends to blend dynamic RPG questlines with tabletop style adventuring.

In a quest to become the king or queen, Armello tasks players with the role of a hero from one of four animal clans – rat, rabbit, bear or wolf – and must navigate a procedurally-generated hex-based board as they face off against other players looking to become the same. As you progress through the game's rather unique RPG take, you'll encounter various challenges thanks to a dynamic night and day cycle.

Heroes are also customisable, unrestricted by class, and the game features over 100 animated cards. Quests lines change every time you play, and local and online multiplayer adds to the replayability. Players can choose combat, diplomacy or stealth as they pick their way across the board – though of course other's may respond differently to your chosen actions.

Asking for a measly $200,000, the team of five are intending on publishing Armello for Windows, Mac, Linux and eventually an iPad edition. The expected release is March 2015, with a number of rewards and stretch available for viewing on Kickstarter. Check out the gameplay below and pitch video for a great look at the rather stunning looking game.
