Announced last year during the New York Comic Con event, developer Beenox has today revealed a release date for their web-slinging video game tie-in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, set to hit platforms come April 30th for Australia.
In The Amazing Spider-Man 2, players once again assume the role of the iconic Super Hero in a unique side-story inspired by the feature film but set in its own continuity. Throughout his journey, Spider-Man will encounter a number of new foes as well as some old friends, as he confronts a new threat to his beloved city. The narrative will give Peter Parker, Spider-Man’s nerdy photojournalist persona, a greater role in the spotlight, as he investigates the complicated motivations and unique personalities behind the menagerie of Marvel menaces threatening Manhattan.
The new title will see a new “Hero or Menace” morality system introduced, punishing players for their bad deeds as the Spider-Man but also rewarding them for the good deeds they do. The familiar Manhattan map is also being tweaked, with additional challenges added to mix up the game's atmosphere.

Alongside the release date announcement, the team has also revealed the Web Threads Suit Pack up for pre-order, which will include a handful of unique suits to make Spidey look snazzy while roaming Manhattan. These include the red and gold Iron Spider Suit, blue and white Cosmic Spider-Man Suit, Venom-like Black Suit and pulp-style Spider-Man Noir Suit.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will be available come April 30th for Wii U, 3DS, PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
