The Kickstarter crowdfunding project for Kingdom Come: Deliverance has wrapped up is month-long having raised almost four times it's original £300,000 goal with £1,106,371 in the coffers.

The Prague-based indie studio founded by some of the creators of the Mafia and UFO games pitched an open world medieval RPG with a focus on historically accurate content that seems to have resonated well with the core games community. Closing out the campaign, Creative Director and Warhorse co-founder Dan Vávra has penned a heart-felt thankyou letter describing the emotional rollercoaster of crowdfunding experience:
The day we launched our campaign, I woke up in the morning to find we were the lead article on the front page of GameSpot, with our artwork all over the screen. Wow. And there was so much more to come. The response from gamers was even better. Better than we could ever wish for. It became clear that there are quite a few people out there who have similar tastes in games to our own.

The main “reason” we were rejected by all the publishers turned out to be totally false. Not only do people not need fantasy or magic or dragons to enjoy a game, they desperately want games without them! Along the way, we were fortunate to receive support and promotion for the game from such personas as Chris Roberts, Brian Fargo, Sven Vincke, and others. It’s really been one helluva ride.

We have raised almost 400% of our original goal. Kingdom Come: Deliverance is among the 30 most-funded Kickstarter projects of all time and in the top 15 of videogame projects. We have 35 thousand backers, with an average pledge of US$52. Our YouTube channel has more than a million views.

Simply said: You are awesome! Thank You!
The £1.1M target fell a little short of the £1.2M stretch goal that promised "better voiceovers", but has already achieved another seven additional inclusions above the base game outlined in the original goal.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance is being developed for PC (Windows, Mac and Linux), Xbox One and PlayStation 4 with an estimated shipping date of December 2015.

If you took out the Medieval theme and stuck in a Game of Thrones theme, it would be a dream come true.

A vanilla medevil setting is a much better template for future modding.

Game of Thrones is basically Elder Scrolls without Mer (Elven races), you do realize that right? look at all the fantasy elements and houses and its pretty obvious.

That never occurred to me, Though I do not pay as much attention to the history/lore of the Elder Scrolls.
