With Eidos Montreal's rebooted Thief only a few weeks out from launch, and having gone gold last week, some are still scratching their head wondering just what exactly the game looks like in action. For those who may be on the fence, Eidos has unleashed a "pure, unedited, uncommented playthrough" totalling 17 minutes, which should hopefully give you an idea on what to expect.

"After a heist gone wrong, Garrett is trying to make his way back to his hideout in the clocktower. Along the way, he happens upon a jewelry store. Garrett being who he is, you can imagine what happens next..."

The walkthrough was recorded on the PC platform, with fully optimized AMD hardware. Eidos were kind enough to offer the specs used for all those crunching the numbers:
CPU: AMD FX 8350
RAM: 8GB
Graphics: AMD Radeon HD 7970
Hard Drive: 125GB SSD
OS: Windows 7
Thief will be available on PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One come February 27th.

Buy now from Green Man Gaming for only GBP£22.99 (USD$29.99 on Steam)!

not being a huge fan of the originals (ive barely even played them), this reboot looks pretty sharp! it looks like all the whinging true fans did paid off! hopefully they give it a chance to enjoy it

The whinging did lead to a few decent changes, thankfully, unfortunately can never get the original voice actor back, but at this point I've pre-ordered.

That two-coloured bars UI thing is ugly as sin though, I thought that it was just a placeholder the first time that I saw it.

Am I the only one who finds it odd that it was recorded on PC yet all button references are right trigger, and b etc... Got the xbox feel :/

Looks awesome though!

they usually use controllers for these demo vids to make it look more smooth.

Gameplay actually looks quite fun. I don't know why they couldn't have a different protagonist though. If you're going to exclude the factions, voice acting, and original story when doing a reboot, might as well just make it a spinoff with a new character, set vaguely in the same universe. Would have made it easier to digest.
