Warframe developer Digital Extremes has confirmed that its free-to-play ninja MMO shooter has now passed the 5.5 million user mark, and to help celebrate the new milestone the team has revealed their 12th update to the game.

Being introduced in the new update is Warframe Zephyr, who specialises in air attacks and mobility. Players keen on building the new ninja can do so in the new Tenno Research Lab inside your Dojo, and make sure you check out the highlight video below to see her in action.

Other changes include a new game mode, Interception, which has players trying to intercept an "interplanetary communication that is being beamed to four towers on the map," new weapons, the Forest Tileset expanded to cover all of Earth, mod stacking, new in-game hud, new warframe skins and a new mission for players to participate in.

For the full patch notes, head over to the game's official blog post, and make sure to check out the highlights reel below for a look at Zephyr in action.
