Citing a source at online retailer Zappos, French games publication Xboxygen is reporting that developer Respawn Entertainment and publisher EA will be running a beta test for their hotly anticipated shooter Titanfall from February 14-19 2014 (thanks NeoGAF).
Lending substance to the report are a pair of photos taken of what are purportedly promotional posters at retailer Micromania (France's Gamestop subsidiary), showing the Feb 14-19 beta date and featuring a T-shirt and metallic poster as bonus incentives.
According to Xboxygen, the beta will involve all three of the game's launch platforms -- Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC with invitations extended to Micromania pre-order customers in France, and Gamestop equivalents in other territories, which would naturally translate to EB Games here in Australia.
No official confirmation of a beta test has been offered by Respawn Entertainment or publisher Electronic Arts, but it would be very unusual for a multiplayer-only game to launch without having had one, and Titanfall is due on Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC on March 13th 2014.
Update: CEO of Respawn Entertainment Vince Zampella has taken to his Twitter to confirm that the rumours are indeed true, stating that "I'm sure no one has been able to guess from the leaks. PC and XboxOne Beta!" Zampella stated that more details will be coming in the following few days so stay tuned on AusGamers for the latest!
