Those who have been eager enough to place their hard-earned cash down on a digital copy of Diablo 3's Reaper of Souls expansion will soon be able to start pre-downloading the game if "all goes well," said Blizzard Entertainment community manager Lylirra on the Battle.net forums this week (via Polygon).

As usual with Blizzard, no exact release date is yet set in stone, though the team are hoping for it to be available before the end of the month. Typical with all Blizzard expansions, users can expect the patch prior to the release to include all of the content within the expansion — though it just won't be playable until March 25th, the official release date.

If you happen to miss it, AusGamers' very own Kosta "Toadovsky" Andreadis has been running Diablo III: Reaper of Souls through its closed beta paces for the past few weeks and you can find the first part of his hands-on experience over here.

Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls will be available on both PC and Mac first, at a price point of $44.95 for the Standard Edition and $64.95 for the Digital Collector's Edition.

For the extra $20 I will have my retail CE every time thanks. There's nothing like having the real thing sitting in my Diablo collection imo. I will happily use digital for games I will play once or have no real attachment to. With anything D3 its the physical thing every time for me. Good news for others though. Physical or digital, ROS will own.

Looking forward to it! Both the new content and fixing what was unfortunately a broken game. Physical Collector's Edition for me as always.
