The editor of prominent print publication Game Informer has teased that tomorrow's release of the cover image from magazine's February 2014 issue will feature the reveal of something "Next-Gen only that I think people will flip out over" (thanks VG247).

Speculation is wild, but signs suggest that it might be the long-awaited project Evolve from the original Left 4 Dead creators at Turtle Rock Studios. A recent tweet from Turtle Rock community manager Josh Olin hints "Exciting times fast approaching. #OminousTweet".

After regaining its independence from Valve Software back in 2009, Turtle Rock Studios had signed on with now defunct publisher THQ to develop a new game known only by the codename Evolve. Nothing has ever been shared publicly about the game, but publisher Take 2 was obviously impressed enough with it to drop a cool $10.9 million acquiring the rights during THQ's bankruptcy proceedings.

GI has also teased that we "will find out platforms tomorrow", indicating a multiplatform release and presumably ruling out PS4 or XB1 exclusivity, and they've worked with Take 2 on exclusive cover reveals a bunch of times in the past.

We'll know for sure at 11:00am CST tomorrow (which is 3 and 4am Wednesday here in AEST/AEDT).
