Those lucky enough to be invited into the closed beta for Diablo 3's first expansion, Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls, can now begin playing, developer Blizzard Entertainment announced today (via Polygon).
Anyone who was previously in the very closed off Friends & Family beta will find their access automatically granted to the closed beta, and if you are looking at copying your already existing character over from vanilla Diablo 3 you can do so, though only once every 72 hours.
"As this is a test server, please anticipate uneven game performance, and note that restarts and downtime may occur without warning," reads a note from Blizzard in the beta FAQ. "We'll provide information regarding extended downtimes, should they occur, in the Reaper of Souls General Feedback forum."
Beta participants will find the closed beta contains all the content in the expansion, including the final boss fight. Blizzard are using this testing phase to gather further bug reports and tweak all the new content coming in the first expansion.
Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls is expected to launch sometime in 2014. For more on the expansion check out our latest interview with lead level designer Matthew Berger on all things Nephalem.
