Developer Flix Interactive has starter up a Kickstarter project for their very impressive and immersive first-person, survival-creation game Eden Star, hoping to hit their whopping goal of £620,000 before the end of November.
As explained in the Kickstarter pitch below, Eden Star's core gameplay concept is building your base, defending it and exploring its surroundings – alone or with your friends. Of course it wouldn't be a space game if it wasn't held on a foreign planet known as Pharus 7, which hosts a number of beasts ready to rip both your base and yourself apart.
You are an augmented Pioneer deployed from the migration class vessel Eden Star, tasked with unearthing the remnants of the lost colony of Pharus 7, whilst terraforming the surface of this inhospitable, alien world. Equipped with the latest physics-manipulation technology; a mysterious, large, floating island above the planet's core is your domain to explore. You may choose to excavate and gather minerals in order to convert them into buildable resources, or sell them to the Eden Star in exchange for credits to upgrade your armament, outpost, or even purchase blueprints to gain access to further constructible components.Other features that Eden Star boasts include a full day and night cycle that will change the planets face. Build during the day, fight your way through the night hoping you survive long enough to rebuild.
A number of tiered rewards are available if you feel generous, with Flix Interactive promising a Pre-Alpha Combat Tech Demo to any tier upon the successful completion of their Kickstarter. Those feeling super generous can take part in the £5,000 tier reward, which will let you create an area in the game plus sit in on development of Eden Star as well as various other goodies to be had.
