Riot Games has unveiled new transfer options for their MOBA title League of Legends, opening up the gates from North American servers to European in a one-way transaction (thanks Surrender@20). The transfers have been a long time coming and will cost players 2600 Riot Points, which equates to roughly $20.
Starting today, players will be able to skip over the Atlantic and transfer between the North America and EUW or EUNE servers. This upgrade has been a long time coming and we’re stoked that players now have more flexibility to choose where they play
To purchase a transfer, head to the in-game store and click on the Other tab. Intercontinental transfers are one-way and run 2600RP, so always double check you’re heading to the right server. Additionally, European players who joined the North American server prior to June 1st 2010 and weren’t able to move to the European platform when it opened will receive a free one time transfer token.
For the full scoop on eligibility, transfer options and more, you can check out the knowledge database which also includes a run-down of merging accounts for those who predate the launch of EU servers.

Hopefully with this addition of official server transfers the option will be available initially as free for when Riot opens up its Australian-based servers.

So keen for AU servers to open. They'd better not charge for the initial transfer though.

Hopefully this is the first step in announcing the Aussie servers.

And I'm like 99% sure they won't charge for transfers to the AU server when it comes out, otherwise no-one would move over there lol.
