A while back in a casual conversation about gaming, it came to our attention that a popular Xbox game for Kinect wasn't available in Australia. One of the reasons AusGamers was created all those years ago was to try to make sure that Australians didn't ever have to miss out on the latest games - while the situation has massively improved it is still frustrating to find out there are games that simply aren't available in our region, regardless of the reason.
We dropped the awesomely named developers at the Virtual Air Guitar Company a line to find out what was going on, and they said it was something that was going to happen and they'd get back to us. We'd heard that before a couple of times, but this morning it was a great to hear back from them to find out that the game has finally been confirmed for release in Australia - it will be available via Xbox Lives Games on Demand for $19.95 on March 5th.
Big thanks to the team from Virtual Air Guitar for chasing this up for us.
Here's one playing from Gamescom: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wOmQBdF2GSw My favorite part at 1:32. Too bad there is no video of Flying Uwe playing it there on YouTube. Need to look at the stuff from my camera from there.
Same as the UK, except I actually received a promo retail boxed copy before it was scrapped and never to be released which was reviewed on thisisxbox.com - I have been saying for months how it was such a shame that one of the best Kinect games I have played never actually got released in the UK.
Now it's available in the UK and Aus - I can't recommend it enough and really hope it now becomes a Games on Demand hit
