Bungie have kicked off some Alternate Reality Game (ARG) fun over on a subdomain of their official site at alphalupi.bungie.net, presenting visitors with a series of puzzles, and a day timer that appears to be counting down to next Monday (US Pacific Time).

As we have recently heard that the developer's big reveal of their new Destiny project is due to land within a matter of weeks", the obvious conclusion is that February 18th will be the day of their big reveal.

More interesting still, is that the date leads Sony's "PlayStation Meeting" --where the next generation PlayStation console is expected to be unveiled-- by two days, and given that Destiny is said to be committed to a period of "Xbox console" exclusivity, ahead of PC and PlayStation platforms, speculation is rife that Microsoft might use the event of the first taste of their next generation device.

ARG's have precluded the reveal of past Bungie games, with the popular I Love Bees ARG for Halo 2, and Iris for Halo 3.
