Despite wide coverage in the videogame press, the Kickstarter crowdfunding project for Gas Powered Games hopeful role-playing/strategy hybrid title was falling well short of its ambitious US$1.1M target, having raised less than half that goal with only four days remaining.

In one last update to the project, video update #12, GPG founder Chris Taylor remained optimistic about the future prospects of his company, indicating that the studio would be rescued by other means, but was unable to clarify due to the nature of such business dealings.
At this point, it makes sense for us to focus our attention on other ways to keep Gas Powered Games running. Unfortunately, we are unable to share any specifics in public. When we have news to share, we will be posting it on our site. If you want status updates, or if you want to continue discussing Wildman and/or this Kickstarter, please consider migrating over to forums.gaspowered.com.

We are profoundly grateful to those of you who backed this project and Gas Powered Games. Your passion and hard work put us in a position to write this exciting new chapter in the history of GPG.
Anyone that had pledged funds to Wildman's Kickstarter effort will no longer be charged for their proposed contribution.

Having watched the latest update video it sounds like they might have got a publishing deal. Just the way Chris was saying things.

For me it just never looked conceptually interesting enough to kickstart - and I do love some good action-rpg'n

Yeah, I also wasn't seeing much exciting about that particular project.

That html5 modding toolset that they put together could probably have had a kickstarter of its own though. A "make your own game" toolset, with wildman included as the first one, a bonus whole game sort of thing..

Agree with Nerf and simul.

I looked at it, but wasn't entirely thrilled when comparing to games like Torchlight 2 or Path of Exile.

And yet they still talk about "oh the kickstarter is killing our company potentially" like it's our fault we didn't want to support a mediocre product *shrug*.
