Monkey Island Creator Ron Gilbert to Open PAX Australia with Storytime Keynote

PAX Australia, the first international event for the community-focused Penny-Arcade Expo, will be opened by none other than Ron Gilbert, who will deliver the "storytime" keynote speech.

The acclaimed game designer known for classic adventure games such as The Secret of Monkey Island, Maniac Mansion, and Day of the Tentacle, and more recently DeathSpank and The Cave.

PAX Australia will run from July 19 through 21, 2013, at the Melbourne Showgrounds. Three day passes, and Saturday admissions have already sold out, but there is still limited available on both the Friday and Sunday over on the official website.

Awesome news. My biggest worry has been that it wont be considered a 'real' convention and wont get support from bigger names and publishers, etc. This is a pretty good step towards assuaging my doubts :)
