Two new trailers for Defiance have landed, showing off both aspects of the ambitious transmedia collaboration between games developer Trion Worlds, and TV channel Syfy (thanks VG247).

In the television show's "Worlds Away" trailer, a dramatically-scored clip introduces us to the characters of the live action series, set to kick off with a movie-length premier on the Syfy channel on April 15th.

Then we have a gameplay trailer from the MMO videogame, which although set in a different location in the Defiance universe than the TV's show, will have common links, and events that impact the other.
Powerful scripted drama and a massive online world, united for the very first time. Set on a transformed Earth in the near future, events in the show will impact the game, and players will impact the show, creating an unprecedented immersive experience.
Defiance's closed beta testing is now due to kick off on January 18th (registrations open here), with the full game hoping to launch alongside the show in April.

I'm interested to see what the show is like, need more sci-fi to watch. Couldn't really care less about the game though.
