For those of you looking at trying out the online portion of the previous sports titles in the '11 series, EA has revealed (via GameInformer) that the servers will be shutting down on January 11th, leaving nine titles without multiplayer aspects.
  • FIFA Soccer 11 for PC, PS3, Wii & Xbox 360
  • FIFA Soccer 11 Ultimate Team for PS3 & Xbox 360
  • Madden NFL 11 for PS3, Wii & Xbox 360
  • Madden NFL 11 Ultimate Team for PS3 & Xbox 360
  • NBA JAM for PS3 & Xbox 360
  • NBA LIVE 10 for PS3 & Xbox 360
  • NCAA Football 11 for PS3 & Xbox 360
  • NHL 11 for PS3 & Xbox 360
  • NHL 11 Ultimate Team for PS3 & Xbox 360
  • EA has also announced that not just the sports titles will be getting their online cut, but popular title The Sims 2 will have its online service turned off on January 14th. January 19th will also see iOS title Trenches 2 get switched to off mode as well.

EA has assured those still playing the titles (or looking to purchase a copy) affected that the offline portion will still be accessible.

I'm sure they would stop that if they could get away with it.

EA are total cunts. I'd wouldn't have a tear in my eye if I heard the board all had their throats cut.
I wonder if they have a disclaimer that the multiplayer portion of their titles is only available for 2 years.
