Unity Technologies and inXile, the developers behind recent Kickstarter success Wasteland 2, have revealed a new crowdsourcing experiment that will give backers the chance to have direct control over the development of Wasteland 2's games' assets, a first for the industry.

For each week of development, developers inXile will be putting up art concept that fans and developers can then turn into full 3D developed assets. All assets will be then submitted to Unity's special Artist pack where inXile will assess and pick any that they like, giving the creator both money and in-game credit for their work.

In the case that inXile decides not to use your model, all assets that meet Unity requirements will be available in the Unity Assets Store which is a great way for other up-and-coming developers to out-source their development and in the process you get paid for it.

If this sounds like your kind of thing, check out the inXile page for the weekly pick of required assets and then submit your model to the Unity Assets Store, in accordance with the Wasteland 2 style guide.
