THQ has sent along another new video promoting the upcoming Company of Heroes 2, this time a dev diary style clip titled "Preparing for War" that features commentary from the game's developers at Relic Entertainment.

The video offers a closer look at several key features, such as TrueSight the line-of-sight system that controls the game's dynamic fog of war, and Cold Tech, a collection of environment mechanics that includes deep snow, frozen waterways, and extreme cold that affect different units in different ways.

We also get a good look a the new infantry vaulting ability, which means no more walking the long way around fences and sandbags, and a couple of quick peeks at the game's UI HUD, which we've screen-grabbed below for closer inspection.

Watch the video embedded below, or here in our HD video library.

Company of Heroes 2 is due on PC in March 2013.

the first video with any real detail of the new mechanics. i like the true sight innovation - adds a real new tactical element to the game which will make it heaps different to coh1.

The weather stuff is cool but the 'truesight' and vaulting are not new to the genre. Both of those are in Men of War.

I have been playing Tales of Valour the past couple of days again. Enjoying it too. I have always wondered why they did not make a eastern front expansion years ago. While CoH2 game may not be totally revolutionary it will be still great to play.
