The team behind the crowdfunded Android-powered console project OUYA, has updated their Kickstarter project page with word that the manufacturing process is running to schedule, and the first shipments of the early-release developer kits will be outbound from December 28th.

The wider Kickstarter backer launch is still due to commence in March 2013, with delivery to people that have pre-ordered from the OUYA website following from April 2013.

The photo below is arrantly the latest completed prototype being put through it's paces by the OUYA team, offering a sense of scale of the diminutive device. Head over to the Kickstarter page for more details.
