Nintendo has announced several retailers around the country will be celebrating the release of the Wii U in Australia, with many opening up their stores to the public tonight for a midnight launch.

In Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane there will be major launch events at the three locations below, featuring a live DJ, live caricatures, balloon art, themed donuts, slurpees and more!

  • Don't worry though if you can't make it to the live events, as there will be other retailers holding midnight launches for those eager to get their hands on the new tech early. You can find the full list here, but currently Kmart, EB Games and JB Hi-Fi will be holding midnight launches, with other retailers opening their doors tomorrow. It is recommended that you phone ahead before preparing yourself, just to check that your local store is indeed holding a midnight launch.
