A group of dedicated TimeSplitters fans have been trying all year to petition Crytek to revive TimeSplitters and release it either as a new stand-alone title or as a digitally downloadable HD update on the likes of XBLA or the PSN.

Their cries were heard by Crytek head, Cevat Yerli, who said he wanted to make the game, but was concerned about how well it would do in the current landscape.

When we originally reported on the drive by fans, their Facebook page was at 10,000 Likes. Since then they've grown in number just under 41,000 and their tenacity has not ended.

Thankfully Crytek is still keeping an eye on them, and today the group offered open arms to the mod community after receiving word from the developer that they'd not only officially support a TimeSplitters mod, but help nurture it.
I have just had word from Crytek that they are going to permit and support a TimeSplitters CryEngine mod. I am now looking for modders that can handle the CryEngine. If i manage to get a group together, then they may let us use assets from the original TimeSplitters game! so the idea is to build a TimeSplitters all-in-one. All the levels, all the characters and all the weapons. If you are interested then contact me at - [email protected] or contact me on Skype - Cairn_Trenor. This is BIG for anyone that wants to get into the gaming industry!
We'd absolutely love to see an official TimeSplitters game make its way on to platforms, but even if it doesn't, it's still great to hear that passionate people can break through the lines of communication to the big guns and earn their support. So if you're a modder and keen, we recommend getting in touch with them via the above.
