The Kickstarter project for Hero-U has scraped in past its goal in the crowdfunding pledge drive's final hours, greelighting development of the new tactical RPG helmed by husband and wife adventure game veterans Corey and Lori Cole, famed as the creators of the popular Quest for Glory games.
Hero-U combines the rich character relationships, story and puzzles of a classic adventure game with the exploration and excitement of a role-playing game. Bringing all these features together makes Hero-U a completely unique game experience.
Prospective backers that missed the window will still be able to contribute, as the developer plans to offer similar incentives via Paypal pledges on their official website for the next two or three months.

The project currently sits at a mere US$9,150 over it's $400,000 goal, falling short of stretch targets that would have added a companion, voice acting and European language localisation on the way up to $700k.

As it stands now, the game is planned for a DRM-free launch on PC and Mac in October 2013.
