![]() With it's Kickstarter component now closing in $2Million, the project won't likely be topping out Obdisian's Project Eternity's $4M on Kickstarter, but the developer has also raised a reported $3.3M and counting, via their official website, making it the new champ of gaming crowdfunders. The 5 million dollar milestone brought with it a big swag of stretch goals, with the developer now promising a tablet companion app, monthly town hall meetings with Chris Roberts, over 70 star systems from launch (equal to Privateer), another additional base type, as well as a new 50 mission total for the game's Squadron 42 single-player component, and celebrity voice acting, which will include at least one favourite from Wing Commander (that punters are speculating will be Mark Hammil). The next stretch goal has been revealed as another new ship titled the Bengal Carrier, that will feature as the largest playable vessel if a $5.5Million target is reached. At the time of posting, Star Citizen's crowdfunding venture has 16 hours left on the clock. The developer's end-of-campaign event can be live-streamed here, and you can find out more details on the official site, or the kickstarter page.
