Last week we saw a teaser image of the next Angry Birds title from makers Rovio, with many believing it to be a link between a Star Wars themed game. Turns out it was just that, with Rovio announcing today the official Angry Birds: Star Wars game.

In Angry Birds Star Wars the birds and pigs alike will take on the personalities of characters from the Star Wars saga.

"They are not Angry Birds dressed up as Star Wars characters," says Paul Southern, vice president of licensing and consumer products marketing for Lucasfilm Ltd. "They are characters in their own right."

The title will be available on November 8th for what seems the majority of smartphones, which includes Windows, Android and iOS. You can check out the teaser trailer below or head over to the official Tumblr page for more info.
