The studio behind the very successful Fruit Ninja, Jetpack Joyride, Monster Dash, Raskulls and Age of Zombies has submitted a calling card for junior programmers and junior designers on the Australian and New Zealand website Tsumea. The job listing is offering two positions, a Client/Server Programmer and a Gameplay Programmer, each being full-time jobs.
Client/Server Programmer

We are seeking a really smart problem solver to handle our support requests who is:
  • interested in developing backend games technology
  • a good C++ programmer
  • experienced with or willing to learn server programming (PHP & Javascript)

    Gameplay Programmer

    We are seeking a crack programmer who knows how to make fun games and can read a designer’s mind. You also need:
  • strong knowledge of C++
  • the ability to self-manage tasks
  • to possess a strong sense of gameplay design and theory
  • the ability to quickly prototype and demonstrate gameplay mechanics
  • previous iPhone or Nintendo DS experience beneficial but not mandatory
  • The studio is also looking out for some more Junior Designers, with the chance to offer great insight into upcoming game development projects. You'll obviously want to be passionate about gaming and understand the processes behind game design, but if this sounds like your kind of thing then be quick to send off a resume.

    The studio operates in Brisbane and offers a great place to start if you are looking at getting into the gaming industry. Make sure you check out both the Junior Programmer listings and the Junior Designer listings at the Tsumea website for details on what and where to submit your resume.
