Hi-Rez Studios has today announced via their forums (thanks The Verge) that a sequel to the third-person shooter MMO Global Agenda is currently in development, and will focus on a more player vs. player environment.
Even though GA was not financially successful, we did learn a lot and tried to apply that knowledge to our new projects.

GA had/has a variety of issues but the biggest is that we tried to do too many things with it and no single mode was as good as it could be. We always said it was like a few games in one (PvP, AvA, Open Zones, Raids, Co-Op PvE)

We also learned a lot about developing content, performance optimization, balancing, patching, bots & cheats, f2p revenue models and more.
While details are still slim on what exactly the titled "GA2" sequel will be revolved around, the forum post outlines that some of Global Agenda's assets will be used, however it was stated that "we plan to add new maps, game modes, class weapons, and build it all on our newest platform." The announcement also goes on to say that GA2 will involve more player vs. player interactions, something that they have evolved over the recent Tribes: Ascend and the currently in beta Smite. Hi-Rez also stated that players can expect beta testing to being sometime next year, however details will follow.

You can read the full announcement over at their official forums, and keep an eye out for more info as it comes.
