For those who have been parrying blows and sending arrows through the air in the recently released medieval third-person war game War of the Roses will be happy to know that Paradox Interactive has today announced a permanent franchise for the game.
“There is no doubt that War of the Roses has been an ambitious project for us,” noted Gordon Van Dyke. “The game’s reception from players has exceeded expectations and we are truly grateful for the continued support from the community. We’ll continue to improve the game and add substantial content for all players.”
With the benefit of knowing that the game isn't going to be a one-hit wonder, Van Dyke also hinted on a recent post in the Steam Community that more will be coming to the game in the next few months, including new game modes and weapons.
I can't go into all details, but I can hint that we are looking into adding more weapons, perks, coat of arms options, new character armors like the Knights Hospitaller, new levels based on battles like Wakefield and Towton , and a new gamemode based on an objective attack/defend scenario, etc...
With a game quite dependent on servers and the community, it will also be interesting to see whether the stance of using only one server provider, Multiplay, will be changed in the future to allow user-hosted servers or even LAN capabilities which is currently missing from the game.

Oooooo. Love this game. Though the server thing is a bit of a pain and LAN play would be spectacular for LAN parties
