The hotly anticipated Borderlands 2 goes live in North America in a few short hours, and developer Gearbox Software and publisher 2K games have released the obligatory launch trailer to celebrate. Due to region fun, we're still a day and a half or so away from when the game unlocks for Australian PC gamers on Steam and hits retail shelves for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, but at least we can still watch the trailer (or vpn proxy unlock the game on Steam amirite?).

The new vid features our new charismatic antagonist Handsome Jack, lamenting his struggle against the game's clearly delusional quartet of player characters that fancy themselves as the heroes of the game. Watch the embed below or click here for the HD option to get psyched up before your next visit to Pandora.

The official Australian release date for Borderlands 2 is September 20th 2012. Stay tuned for our full review later in the day.
