Celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Metal Gear series at a Tokyo event, developer Kojima Productions has announced the next big title in the franchise, debuting Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes (plural not a typo) as the first game to utilise the studio's new FOX Engine technology.
According to a blow-by-blow account of the event by
Gamespot a 20 minute real-time demo was shown running on a PC, played using an Xbox 360 controller, on the engine "designed with the PS3 and Xbox 360 in mind", but Gamespot reports that Kojima stated that the engine is also next-gen capable.
A
single concept render shows the iconic Solid Snake looking a lot younger, and remarkably like Splinter Cell's Sam Fisher. Further, Gamespot's description of the game indicates the series may also be heading in the Splinter Cell direction, explaining how rather than a "game over" screen when Snake is spotted, he instead uses various tools to escape.
The demo reportedly included an shadowy well-dressed antagonist with a fleet of armed henchmen and guard dogs in a military base. No release date or platforms were confirmed.

It's most likely Vic/Big Boss
Wide speculation, but guessing it'll have to do with the formation of Outer Heaven from MSF
