Konami has today announced that the upcoming Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate for 3DS has been moved to an expected early 2013 release after it was initially expected this year.
"It's been two years since the enormous success of Castlevania Lords of Shadow, and with this next installment, we want to take the necessary time needed to give fans a handheld title unlike any other," said Dave Cox, Producer of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 and Head of Product Planning and Development for Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH. "Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate will bridge the storyline to Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2, also planned to release in 2013. Both titles will reveal the shocking fate of the Belmont Clan in a dramatic culmination of the Lords of Shadow saga."
The new title will be taking place 25 years after the events of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, and will be a precursor to the upcoming Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 title for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. While Konami hasn't said what has caused the delay, however hopefully this just means the game will be more polished for the expected release.

Still hasn't been a Castlevania game that's topped Symphony of The Night sadly. The metroidvania 2D Castlevania's are still THE games to play over any of the 3D games which are far more God of War style in gameplay.
