Uber Entertainment, the studio known for the colourful shooter Monday Night Combat has reached out to Kickstarter for their next project, a large-scale robot-warfare RTS game they call Planetary Annihilation.
If the name and theme seems a little too close to the classic epic robot war RTS Total Annihilation, that's because the Uber team include two veterans of Cavedog Entertainment, and subsequently Gas Powered Games where they also worked on the first TA spiritual successor Supreme Commander. Planetary Annihilation brings Real-Time Strategy to a new generation of gamers in a way they’ve never been seen before: Total Annihilation-inspired gameplay on a planetary scale. The pitch video includes a healthy amount of concept gameplay, with the big draw, as the name suggests, being the ability to wage battle on a planetary scale. Whether the concept and heritage alone will be enough to raise the project's lofty goal of US$900,000 is tough to call, but if you want to aid the cause, head over to the kickstarter page and the game's official website.

How much money have we spent on Steam games that we have never installed people? Sign up to kickstarter and make these awesome projects happen.
(I also recommend checking out the Castle Story kickstarter)

28 days to go and they're almost at $250K. I suspect there's enough people interested that this one will go ahead.
