Just in case PC gamers needed another reason to like CD Projekt RED, the altruistic Polish developer has announced that they will soon be releasing the REDKit, a set of mod tools for their fantasy RPG The Witcher 2.

Specific details of REDkit's contents have not been revealed, however a developer blog post explains that they will enable users to modify The Witcher 2 to create "new, non-linear adventures, great looking locations and much more", which indicates both quest scripting and map-making capabilities.

REDkit is expected to be shown off to press at this week's GamesCom expo in Cologne, so we'll be sure to find out more about it in the next few days.

That's awesome, I hope they get a lot of attention from talented modders. I loved the shit out of The Witcher 2.
