, the hopeful third person action game dreamt up by comic book publisher Raw Studios, has revealed that actor Ron Perlman, best known for his roles in the Hellboy films and Sons of Anarchy is signed on to voice the game's protagonist, The Convict.
on the game's Kickstarter page also confirms that Raw Studios' co-founder and actor Thomas Jane (The Punisher, Hung) will also be performing voice work for the game.
Unfortunately however, the game's pledge-drive isn't looking so hot. With less than two weeks left on the clock, Bad Planet has so far failed to raise even $30,000 of it's lofty US$575,000 goal. A statement on the topic from Raw Studios' Tim Bradstreet is appropriately somber, but doesn't offer any indication of what the game's fate will be if the Kickstarter goal is not met.
It's been a tough go so far and there's no getting around that. It's been a lot of learning along the way. No matter how hard you work or how completely you think have something covered there's always going to be something you missed or could have done better. We're realistic about that. Bad Planet is not Batman, nor is it The Avengers, and we're not Marvel or DC with decades of fan support holding us up by the boot-straps. We're an independent boutique publisher with a great IP partnered with an extremely talented group of independent game designers.
The announcement of two prominent voice actors late in the project undoubtedly helped push the troubled Republique pledge tally over the line, but it doesn't look like it will be enough here.
