Capitalising on their proximity to legendary Hongkie action flicks, United Front Games and Square Enix have tapped in, on the nose, to John Woo's Hard-Boiled, titling their latest video showing off the gunplay in forthcoming open-world action romp, Sleeping Dogs, the same.

However, beyond guns, shooting and death, the video actually has very little in common with Woo's action masterpiece. That doesn't stop the allure of this game gaining traction though, as we move closer to its release next month. And with the recent voice-cast revealed, and a lot of passion for their setting and source material, United Front's post-Activision phoenix might just be action game you're looking for this August.
