Treyarch has released an all-new Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 trailer, this time focusing a little on the villain of the main game, but more or less showing off their revamped visuals which actually harbour some pretty well rendered character faces.

There's also info that Trent Reznor is on board as the game's composer, alongside David S. Goyer (The Dark Knight Rises), who co-wrote the game's story with Treyarch. There are also a few little bits of gameplay we hadn't seen before, such as the futuristic HALO jump (with whatever that thing on their back is).

Technically stunning? What rock has that reviewer been hiding under? Oh right, the stone cold brick that is the x-box.

Writer from Dark Knight and Trent Reznor doing the music makes it sound epic, then I remembered what game engine it was on

I didn't mind Black Ops single player, but graphically this sequel looks like it's at least 5 years out of date. All those chunky polygons!

Not working very well. If I click pause while watching the video, the "Related Videos" overlay appears and I'm no longer able to resume the video because the overlay blocks mouse-clicks on the play/pause bar.

That's because it is using the same engine from cod4 which came out in 2007. Such a shame what consoles have done

Usually I'd be like 'who cares about the visuals as long as it is fun' but this game will be s***/generic so yeah...

Yeah Blops used an updated version of the COD4/WAW engine. That was not as good as the more significant update done for MW2.

The thing is, part of CODs success is using the same engine and tweaking. They just make the game, they're familiar with it. It works on a wide range of systems. Fewer problems.

At this stage though, seeing they have the money. It's a bit insulting to the consumer to not have something more comparable with Frostbite 2 or Cryengine 3.

I actually found MW3's graphics so out dated they were distracting at times.

I liked Blops and look forward to this.

What is annoying with the engines is. Sometimes in the games they look pretty good. Othertimes horrible.

One way I judge a game engine today is the horrible weird lighting on peoples faces and bodies. There's something about out of date engines where it just looks terrible. This has that.
