Ahead of what is expected to be more reveals at the E3 2012 expo, Sony and Naughty Dog have released a new trailer for The Last of Us, the upcoming survival action game from the creators of Uncharted.

The "Truck Ambush" Trailer can be viewed embedded below (or here for the HD option) and shows just one of the many threatening scenarios one might encounter as a father and daughter duo in a cruel, post-apocalyptic world.

The Last of Us is expected in late 2012 or early 2013, exclusive to PlayStation 3.

Check out the fungus the zombie stuff in this game is based on... I watched Planet Earth a while back and when they announced this I went, "WAIT A MINUTE!" - it's this real fungus that zombifies ants in South America and forces them to seek out sunlight so the fungus can grow out of their brains and continue their life cycle.

...seriously.
