Many months after the game's announcement just prior to Quakecon last August, Bethesda have released the first trailer for Arkane Studio's Dishonored, a complex narrative-driven first person shooter set in an original world with Victorian-era influences where "industry and mysticism" collide.
Dishonored casts you as a supernatural assassin driven by revenge. You are the once-trusted bodyguard of the beloved Empress. Framed for her murder, you become an infamous assassin, known only by the disturbing mask that has become your calling card. In a time of uncertainty, when the city is being besieged by plague and ruled by an oppressive government armed with strange technologies, dark forces conspire to bestow upon you abilities beyond those of any common man.

In Dishonored, creatively eliminate your targets with the flexible combat system as you combine the numerous supernatural abilities, weapons and unusual gadgets at your disposal. Pursue your enemies under the cover of darkness or ruthlessly attack them head on with weapons drawn. The outcome of each mission plays out based on the choices you make.
Check out the trailer embedded below or click here for the HD option.

Dishonored is in the works for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, with a vague launch window of "2012". For more details of the game, read our in-depth preview and developer interview with Creative Directors Raphaƫl Colantonio and Harvey Smith.

Having just watched the trailer it looks like the creators of Assassins Creed and Bioshock should be fairly upset.

Production quality on the trailer looks good, but it also looks like a Trailer from the 90's (in the respect that the game may not match the 'hype/slickness' of the trailer with the gameplay)

I guess it's a matter of time before we'll know though.

The trailer is basically the same as the gameplay demo the team has been showing off since its announcement and is a good representation of everything they have in place. It's essentially the same as what I assume the same team produced for Prey 2 in the cinematic department -- equally derived specifically from gameplay demos.

Honestly, check out my preview, it outlines much of what this game is about and it is looking very, very good.

Looks decent enough, hope the end game lives up to the trailer because I'm sick of all these modern war based games based in sandy deserts or broken down cities/villages.
