Now that the torch has been passed -- with the transition of all Halo data management from series creator Bungie to 343 Industries now complete -- Bungie have compiled an impressive infographic, charting some huge numbers out of the monumental amount of player-data logged over the franchises' ten year history.

According to the statistics, 85 million days (2 billion hours) have been cumulatively spent playing Halo games, with over 350 million multiplayer matches and 108 billion deaths.

343 Industries are currently hard at work on Halo 4, while Bungie -- now once again an independent studio -- are developing a yet-to-be-announced title to be published by Activision.

Bungie made better games when they were independent.

Such as Myth.

Not much of a Halo fan, wasn't particularly innovative or enjoyable beyond the average shooter - just happened to be a new hyped game on a new console at the time.

I just like Halo cos it captures a really epic feeling and has such an awesome sense of epic scale that no other FPS games really have (at least for me). Never really got into the competitive multiplayer side of it much cos multiplayer fps on a console just isn't something I find fun, but the co-op is always fun
