SEGA PlayStation Japan have revealed that the upcoming MMO Phantasy Star Online 2, originally only in the works for PC, will now be touching down on the PlayStation Vita. Japanese site Andriasang offers an English-translated report on a recent blog post by Producer Satoshi Sakia that explains that both the PSVita and the PC versions will share the same game servers and that the same character can be played on both platforms.
It's unsure whether that means players from each camp will be able to directly interact with each other, or if you'll just be able to level the same character in both, but either way, an online-only handheld game will be an interesting feat.
The video below shows some early footage from the portable version of the game, which is reportedly only "10% complete", but is earmarked for a 2013 launch.
