For the uninitiated, before he became known as the mastermind of God of War, developer David Jaffe directed another successful PlayStation franchise for Sony -- the arcade racing series Twisted Metal, which debuted way back in 1995.

In 2012, Jaffe returns to his roots with a new entry in this series, rebooting things with the simple Twisted Metal title once again with a new game exclusive to the PlayStation 3. Unusually for a game of this heritage, Sony Europe's release date is lagging a few weeks behind it's North American launch, but you'll be able to find it on Australian shelves this coming Thursday, March 8th 2012.

In the meantime, check out AusGamers review to find out our thoughts.

Is the driving mechanics like TW1 & 2 or more like 3 & 4 because thats a huge deal breaker if its following on from 3 & 4

Dont mind jumping on the bandwagon here. I too never bought Twisted Metal(2): world tour on PS1 but must have rented it soooo many times.

The new one has instantly made those memories and addictions flow back....

Am super keen for local aussie multiplayer so if you guys need another, happy to attempt to crush you and get some sort of local server/game happening

great review by the way - L
