Although it seems like the proper full reveal was penciled in for March 5th, following a flurry of leaks and rumours over the past 24 hours, Ubisoft have officially confirmed that Assassins Creed 3 will indeed be set during the American Revolution with some tantalising boxart.

October 30th 2012 is the currently expected release date... well for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 at least, PC will most likely be lagging the consoles again, but we can only hope.

Everything else floating around out there is still just rumours at this point, so we'll check back in after the weekend when the official announcement is due on March 5th (so Tuesday, March 6th in Australia). For the time being, take a hatchet to some red coats!

Heh yeah, I wouldn't be too fixated on him standing out much in that costume. If he's a Native American in that time period, it's not really historically accurate that he would be able to blend into crowds in cities no matter what he was wearing. They were more hated and feared by sheltered white society than black people at that point in America's history.

I imagine they'll take some liberties with that for the sake of a fun game though.

Heh, I got stuck on brotherhood, seemed to just be a repeat of AC2 with more dodgy landscape.

I picked up Brotherhood in one of those "We're getting rid of our old shit cheap" sales, new for like $20 (about the only time I'll actually shop at EB).

Still haven't got around to playing it much though, only just got through the intro bit where your castle/villa gets all fucked up again, I guess so theres a reason to grind away and buy upgrades for it all over again.

Nah, that doesn't happen. Your new hideout is a different place.

I enjoyed brotherhood more because it was very authentically Rome. Was much cooler exploring all those notable landmarks and ruins rather than the second tier Italian cities of AC2.

Great news! You don't have to buy it.

yeah brotherhood was pretty decent, the story wasn't as epic as AC2 but the city was miles better than anything in AC2 or 1. I finsihed revelations a few weeks back and it felt like a step backwards, the city was rather dull and repetitive compared to rome and the tower defense missions going boring after like 2 times.
