The PlayStation Vita was released this week and at the respective prices of AUD $419.95RRP and AUD$349.95RRP for 3G Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi models, you could be forgiven for being hesitant to go out and pick one up.

Sony hooked us up though, and we played with a review model all week, as well as a full retail 3G Vita all day yesterday and have a full report of our findings to help you make an informed decision. We're yet to add the Vita as a review platform on the site (it's coming shortly though), so this is a feature rounding out the device itself and touching on some of the launch line-up.

while you talk a lot of mess about not being able to pay to convert your UMDs over to the Vita, it's worth noting that you can still download and run PSP apps you have purchased on the PSN.

This is also pretty cool

I'm eagerly awaiting the DHL truck with my Vita on board. Tracking says it was sent out for delivery at 9am, so it must be close by now. Pretty pumped!

Steve, how do PSP games look on it with the new filtering options? Do the look low-res and blurry, or are they noticeably better than they are on the original PSP? I've got a little money sitting in my PSN wallet, and I was thinking of using it on some cheap PSP games.
